An exciting opportunity has arisen for a “Material Scientist in Life Sciences and Water Treatment Applications ” role located in Toulouse for our client, who is the world's leading supplier of mineral-based specialty solutions for industry with 14,000 employees, operations in more than 40 countries, and €3.8 billion in revenue in 2023.
Role:
The Material Scientist in Life Sciences and water treatment is responsible for the development of minerals based new products and solutions into life Sciences and water treatment applications, supporting our Client`s organic growth in this segment.
Responsibilities:
SAFETY : Contribute directly and in a proactive way vis à vis colleagues and her/himself to S&T Laboratory safety.
Responsible for the S&T projects execution and the development of the necessary technologies and products related to the market (NBO, new applications, new services and technical support using laboratory resourcing) :
Is accountable from a Technology standpoint for an efficient use of resources to deliver at the expected performance & cost timely technology solutions
Coordinate with her/his Peers to allocate technical team pool resources matching deadline on her/his projects and in coherence with overall priorities of the segment
Responsible for nurturing Company`s relationships and growing our intimacy with customers
Ensures tight coordination with relevant Operations, Product Management, Process, Commercial and Business teams as well as Technical Services
Look for and lead the relationship with external R&D resources when capabilities is not available internally
Report in a timely manner progress to peers and management (monthly activity, research activity progress, Accolade…)
Contribute to lab/pilot assets acquisition, implementation, technical acceptance and maintenance
Propose and draft documents (invention report, patent…) to protect our intellectual property
Contribute to the specification datasheet content definition and to product launch kit elaboration (under the lead of product management/marketing teams)
Draft scientific / technical articles to grow our visibility through communication in professional magazines.
Keep his/her awareness on technologies/products evolution (OEM’s technologies, new , competitors’ product…) that can have an impact / interaction with Group`s solutions for FLS segment… and disseminate across their community.

Key scientific / technical competencies

Good Laboratory Practice acumen and intimate with key project management rules
Knowledge of Animal Feed industry and Minerals would be a plus
Ideal background/ experience
PhD or Master in water treatment or Life Sciences applications
5+ years of work experience in R&D or production
Work in an international environment is a plus
Fluent English written, spoken, second EU language appreciated (German, Italian, French)
Other requirements:
Availability for business trips in Europe ( around 20%).
