Our client, a renowned French industrial group, is spearheading a groundbreaking greenfield Lithium production project in France, with a total investment of €1 billion. This ambitious initiative aims to establish sustainable and innovative lithium production to support the green energy transition.

They are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Professional to lead all procurement activities associated with the project namely: EPCm Contracts, Material supply contracts, Service contracts and
construction works contracts. 

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Europe's most significant lithium production projects while working in a dynamic and impactful leadership capacity.

ORGANISATION
  • This position directly reports to the Group Purchasing Director for Industrial Equipment & Services.
  • Functional report to the EMILI Project director.
Functional collaboration:
  • Industrial Project Managers of the Project
  • Project Management Team
  • Legal Counsel in EMEA

Key tasks and responsibilities:

The project consists of two phases; pilot plant and commercial plant phase.
  • Define, in coordination with the Industrial Project Director of the Project the purchasing  strategy of the project. 
  • Be the partner of the Industrial Project Director of the Project, by steering and coordinating.
  • Purchasing activities for the whole project, with support of the Purchasing Team.
  • For EPCm contract already awarded (Pilot plant): manage all EPCm purchasing activities.
  • During basic engineering and EPCm phase: this includes the proper implementation of company Purchasing Policy, validation of the purchasing plan(s), participation to progress meetings, participation to the definition of the vendor and subcontractor lists, participation to vendor qualifications.
  • For commercial plant: Manage the RFQ of the basic engineering / EPCm, in relation with the Project Team, the Purchasing Team and the Legal Team, until contract award. After contract award, the activities may continue with the management of the EPCm purchasing activities.
  • Monitor progress on the execution of the purchasing plan, and share visibility with stakeholders.
  •  Manage risks and opportunities.
  • Lead claims resolution
  • Main KPIs are the respect of the project timeline, and savings negotiation performance.
Education and Experience requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering plus Purchasing specialization / experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in EPC/EPCm projects management and contract management.
  • Experience in the purchasing and negotiation of industrial equipment with performance guarantees, and in the subcontracting of construction works.
  • Proven experience in planning and leading complex negotiations
  • Experience in the mining / metal processing industry is a plus.
