An exciting opportunity has arisen for an “Industrial Continuous Improvement Manager” role in Italy, for our client who is a world leader in mining of performance minerals for the industry. They are now hiring an Industrial Continuous Improvement Manager to lead their Continuous Improvement team in their Italy Hub. In this role, he or she will lead cross-functional teams to define and execute continuous improvement programs in order to improve hub cost competitiveness and efficiency of processes, practices and organizations.
Italy Hub involves 6 production sites, 2 quarries, 1 underground mine and 2 logistics platforms. The sites are located in Avezzano and Carrara for Carbonates, Civita Castellana for Ceramics, Corsico and Morgongiori for Perlite and Rodoretto, Porte and Malanaggio for Talc.
Travel to be expected is around 40%
The Role:
Reporting to the Hub Director-Italy-PM EMEA, the Continuous Improvement Manager is a key position of industrial change management deployment. He/She leads the implementation of various industrial best practices.
The responsibilities of this role will be as follows:
Deploying and sustaining Continuous Improvement program within the Hub by supporting the 2 pillars:
Improving working conditions and industrial skills through 5S, Dust Management, Rituals of Management, and all other group
Generating margin improvement through cost saving projects
Supporting the definition of sites specific industrial mid-term vision (3YP) in line with all level of industrial management
Supporting analysis of processes and practices to enable safety, customer centricity, industrial maturity, competitiveness, also with the support of BA - Center of Excellence team.
Generating, tracking, animating detailed continuous improvement initiatives across the plants based on sustainable savings pipeline, with the cooperation of plant management more specifically around
Leading effective operational process' implementation at hub level
Providing technical and project management expertise to on-site teams for deployment and improvement projects
Maintaining and creates appropriate documentation for reports, project execution, and data analysis
Capturing and communicating learning to enable best practice transfer within his/her hub and the other hubs
Key interfaces: ensuring tight coordination with Hub manager (direct report) & Business area CI manager (functional coordination).

Key Competencies & Background
Engineer background (preference to mechanical, chemical or mining)
Proven experience of 3-5 years in Project Management, Mining or Industrial Operations or Operational Excellence.
Excellent level of English
English and Italian is a must. Any other language is a plus for future possibilities of evolution within the Company
Continuous Improvement culture and ability to learn methods very fast (project management, Kaizen, 6-sigma, value stream mapping, Fish-Bone diagram, working capital optimization)
Strong Analytical, Problem Solver, Project Management skills,
Finance literacy
Ability to quickly develop process expertise around our technical clusters (ie: mass balance, thermal balance,crushing, wet/dry grinding, dewatering, drying, packaging,...)
Ability to positively influence teams in a matrix organization
6sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is a plus
